Joining families and celebrating cultures and backgrounds, histories and futures, is what getting married is all about, and todays Real Wedding couple, Abby and Sudeep, did this in the most modern way. They honored both of their family traditions, made them their own, and enjoyed every minute of it!

The Goals: Abby and Sudeep didnt always plan on having a large wedding, but the more they thought about it the more they realized that they may never again have the chance to bring together all the people they loved. For their event they chose the thoroughly unique downtown Los Angeles venue Vibiana and invited 150 of their nearest and dearest to celebrate with them, combining cultures, faiths and family traditions. The images from Callaway Gable Photography capture the joy of the day so well!

This magical French Real Wedding of Ainara and Patrick makes me simply long for a trip to France! Weddings there are like no where else – a brilliant combination of romance, elegance, natural yet refined beauty, a sense of humor and an abundance of passion and pure pleasure. I hope you enjoy this wedding story and the wonderful photos from One and Only Paris, and that it sweeps you away into a lovely weekend!

The Goals: Ainara’s family is from the Basque region of Spain and Patrick’s family is from Paris, so to bring everyone together they rented the spectacularly beautiful Chateau la Durantie in Dordogne, France, which is directly in between. Family and friends came and stayed for the week and made deep connections while cooking, laughing and dining together every night.

The Design: Chateau la Durantie is so gorgeous on its own that there wasn’t much additional decor needed.

The beautiful Napa Valley was the location for this spectacular fall real wedding of Traci and Ryan, as it’s the place that they are thrilled to call home. Coordinated by Dee Mertz and photographed by the talented Junebug member photographer Jennifer Bowen, we just can’t get enough of these rich autumnal images!

The Goals: Bringing together family was the number one goal for Traci and Ryan as they planned their big day, so they came up with meaningful ways to incorporate their loved ones into the ceremony and festivities. “Ryan’s father and grandfather served as his groomsmen and we decorated our cake table with photos from family members cutting the cake at their own wedding.”

The Design: The beautiful grounds at Beaulieu Gardens offered an elegant yet intimate space for Traci and Ryan’s wedding, and decor was chosen to highlight the location’s natural beauty. A

Today’s real wedding, photographed by the fabulous Junebug member Meg Perotti, is a true, original, knock-out celebration! Normally I write about the weddings myself, but Alicia and Vlad put so much thoughtfulness and attention to detail into their day, there is just no way I could tell their story as well as they could. So this time I’m simply handing it over to the lovely bride, Alicia, so you can hear about their wedding experience in her own words…

The Goals: “Our main goals were to have a sacred ceremony with an inspired gathering of close friends and family, and to showcase great food and music.

We wanted a ceremony that would speak to our characters and our relationship with true intimacy and authenticity, and that was traditional yet non-religious, so we chose a close personal friend as our officiant.

What a fascinating Real Wedding we have today! Teodora and Nick were married in Sofia, Bulgaria in a celebration with serious international flair, and Vienna based wedding photographer Claire Morgan Photography was on hand to capture it all so beautifully!

The Goals: Teodora and Nick simply wanted their Sofia, Bulgaria wedding to be stylish and elegant, and to include both modern and traditional Bulgarian details to reflect their international backgrounds. To achieve this they decided on the luxurious Kempinski Hotel as the wedding venue for their incredible food and local wine selention, and most of all for their stunning Japanese Gardens.

The Design: Using a warm, summery coral and ivory wedding color palette, the design of the decor was inspired by Teodora and Nick’s wedding invitations, which were made by a local Sofia invitation artist.

I know how much you Bride’s Guiders love our real weddings, so when Shira, our real weddings editor, asked me to share some behind-the-scenes gems from my wedding (which is featured in the current summer issue of the magazine), I jumped at the chance.

This first post is all about — what else — the inspiration for my French garden party, well, party. It didn’t really begin that way, of course, but my inspiration binder helped me get there.

1 On the left are swatches that helped me build my wedding color palette. some i had purchased while in France visiting my sister who was studying there. On the right I gathered inspiration for my look (the dress, shoes, and bouquet).

2 This is a photo of my grandmother in her wedding dress in 1952.
