Have you seen Springmaid’s editorial ads?  They’re stunning.  I love the play on whimsy, fantasy and nature.  It’s a successful campaign if you ask me, because all I want to do is get in that bed and lose myself in a blissful dream.

So in the spirit of dreaming under the heavens, I got a little curious as to what options are available around the globe, to appeal to that insatiable appetite for skylight romance.  Whether you want a unique honeymoon experience, or just want to get away for a bit, I’ve found some remarkable outdoor lodging moods around the world.  Oh, and I couldn’t resist: dream palettes to go with each mood.

GETAWAY #1: CHATEAU UNDER THE STARS

Who doesn’t love the idea of secluding your loved ones in an exclusive chateau dream palette for a weekend?  It can be costly, but if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford a chateau resort for your wedding day, I recommend the couple’s suite and spa treatment package.

GETAWAY #2: BEACH FRONT UNDER THE STARS

Going for a dreamy beach wedding can be a fun choice.  Just be aware that the ocean breeze (although soothing on a cd) can be brutal to an unsuspecting hairdo.

GETAWAY #3: BEDOUIN DESERT UNDER THE STARS

{Above: Desert Nights Camp – Ibra, Oman Desert}

For a rustic Bedouin- inspired dream palette, you can be sure to indulge in chic nomadic designs that include Persian rugs, pillow, oil lamps, large tents, storytellers and breezy attire.  Or you could turn up the volume on Bedouin luxury with champagne, hor d’oeuvres and of course, diamonds.

GETAWAY #4: SAF

Well, this is it! We’re nearly there! This is the last weekly post before Laura and Billy’s big day this Friday! What a fun journey it’s been to follow along and watch this fantastic couple and their talented team plan a stunning and personal wedding in record time.

Today we’re focusing on the table top design, flowers and decor details that event designer Daniela Faget of Bella Signature Design has been hard at work pulling together. During yesterday’s live broadcast, Daniela showed us a mock-up of the gorgeous tablescape, and Kim snapped some photos to share with you…

Daniela tells us the design for Laura and Billy’s wedding is a fusion of vintage meets modern, and rustic meets elegance.

Bella Puzzles offers highly crafted wooden jigsaw puzzles, handmade from any photo of your choosing.  What I love about their portfolio is the level of craftsmanship and detail given to each piece.  Any inkling of “mass production” sends me running the other direction, but these stylized puzzles are the absolute opposite.  Not only will they make for creative displays, you’ll enjoy putting the puzzles together for years to come.

Here’s how it works:

What a fun way to keep your guest engaged and excited abut signing your guest book, a practice that can often be overlooked.  Not this time around.

Place Seating Idea: Photo jigsaw puzzles could be a fun  and whimsical idea not only for guest sign books, but to assign seats as well.  Pick a theme for each table, say destinations.  Take a few photos of the areas that you both have enjoyed such as Taj Mahal, Lagos, New Zealand, Switzerland, Las Vegas or Shanghai.  On each puzzle, write the name of the guest as well as the table number, and allow them to put the puzzles together once seated to reveal their table theme.  Whether your guest list is 10 or 250, everyone gets a piece…literally.

The couple: Fiona and Simon

The Wedding: 11.07.2010 – Indiana Modern Beach Bistro, Cottesloe, Australia

What three adjectives that best describe your wedding: Relaxed, fun, romantic.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? We wanted our wedding to be relaxed and personal, yet still honour the tradition and the commitment we were making to each other.

We chose a wedding team that we felt very comfortable with and had a lot of confidence in so that it wasn’t stressful leading up to the day. We tried to focus on getting the atmosphere right rather than spending too much time focusing on a theme and the small details.

The venues we chose for our ceremony and reception reflected our personalities and what we wanted our wedding to be about.

Canlis Restaurant is a true Seattle landmark (and Junebug member!) known for its enduring style and elegance. With premiere fine-dining and sweeping views of the city, this ultra-chic location is reminiscent of the days of The Rat Pack and Marilyn Monroe, with its swanky vibe and mid-century modern architecture.

Recently, the Canlis team coordinated with Steven Moore Designs and Michele M. Waite Photography to create a wedding reception showroom and they were kind enough to share it with us! We love the modern, Mad Men-esque design and lounge-like feel of this set up – a truly glamorous dinner party that we would simply love to attend.

Inspired by the sensual architecture that defines Canlis, designer Steven Moore went for a retro-glam look for the decor.
